  5. Just a few days ago, it was reported that MI is now the biggest phone manufacturer globally. Another report has emerged that Xiaomi has started accepting cryptocurrency like bitcoin and ethereum in its store in Portugal. According to a report, Mi Store Portugal, recently made the decision to accept bitcoin payments. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Dash may now be used to purchase Xiaomi smartphones, vacuum cleaners, smartwatches, electric scooters, and other devices. Xiaomi has collaborated with Utrust, a Swiss cryptocurrency payment service provider whose native token is also accepted by Mi Store Portugal, to enable support for digital assets. It is surprising because Samsung launched a blockchain wallet in early 2019, but its retail locations have yet to adopt cryptocurrency. Xiaomi Portal said “We are a technological, innovative and disruptive brand. That’s why we always want to be one step ahead. We want to give the possibility to all true technology fans to buy their favorite gadgets with what is currently “the most technological money.” What we possibly want is for a local eCommerce site like AliExpress, Jumia etc to start accepting cryptocurrency for payment of their products.
  6. Just a few weeks ago, we reported here that Xiaomi is now the second-largest smartphone manufacturer which reflected an analysis of the second quarter of 2021. Now, a new report has emerged that the Chinese smartphone brand earned a number one spot for the month of June 2021. This represents the first time that Xiaomi has claimed a number one position on the global charts. According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi surpassed Samsung and Apple in June 2021 to become the number one smartphone brand in the world for the first time ever. Xiaomi’s sales grew 26% MoM in June 2021, making it the fastest-growing brand for the month. Xiaomi was also the number two brand globally for Q2 2021 in terms of sales, and cumulatively, has sold close to 800 million smartphones since its inception in 2011. Irrespective of the counterpoint analysis report, Xiaomi is absolutely a threat to Samsung’s market dominance. Samsung’s smartphone business has slowed, Huawei is essentially absent from the market, and LG has exited entirely. This left room for Xiaomi to gain some major growth, and it clearly did. Ever since the decline of Huawei commenced, Xiaomi has been making consistent and aggressive efforts to fill the gap created by this decline.

  8. According to the latest Global report of smartphone shipment for Q2 2021 indicating the top 5 smartphone shipments around the world. The report stated that Xiaomi is now the world’s second-largest smartphone OEM. This brings it up one spot from the previous quarter. It’s the first time the company has held a spot this high. Apple shifted a slot to third place, while Oppo and Vivo maintained the fourth and fifth positions respectively. For years, Huawei occupied that second-place slot and even temporarily overtook Samsung for the number one slot in 2020. But, Huawei is nowhere to be found probably due to the ban. Note that this is just an independent company report, we might have something different if other companies should publish theirs. 15. Global technology leader Xiaomi today officially introduced its first quad-curved waterfall screen concept smartphone. The 88° hyper quad-curved screen design allows visual interfaces to flow over the phone’s surface like water. Almost the entire frame of the smartphone is covered by screen, while its body carries no ports or buttons, bringing forward the futuristic unibody no-port design. Xiaomi engineers tried to make the smartphone as simple as possible and bring the “just a screen” form factor a step closer to life. The smartphone manufacturer stated that it achieved the quad curve 88 degree surface through “countless breakthroughs in glass bending and laminating technology to extend the limits of the display to infinity.” Xiaomi also added that the device features a port free unibody design and has been built using a total of 46 different “groundbreaking” patents. XIaomi waterfall screen The question is how is this even possible considering the fact that this is a concept device and doesn’t quite have the impact of showing it off in person. But a Xiaomi claims that this phone does actually exist and that they’ve used it themselves. If you can recall, just last week, the company announced Mi Air Charge – A technology that allows you to charge your phone over the air, a revolutionary innovation of wireless charging. This they claim will be available in the future.

  17. Xiaomi has launched Mi Air Charge Technology that enables users to charge electronic devices over-the-air without any cables or wireless charging stands. You can charge multiple devices simultaneously while you’re gaming, walking around, or even when something’s in the way, no strings attached. Mi Air Charge Technology: – Everything You Should Know The core technology of Xiaomi’s remote charging lies in space positioning and energy transmission. Xiaomi’s self-developed isolated charging pile has five phase interference antennas built-in, which can accurately detect the location of the smartphone. A phase control array composed of 144 antennas transmits millimeter-wide waves directly to the phone through beamforming. On the smartphone side, Xiaomi has also developed a miniaturized antenna array with built-in “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array”. Beacon antenna broadcasts position information with low power consumption. The receiving antenna array composed of 14 antennas converts the millimeter wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit, to turn the sci-fi charging experience into reality. Currently, Xiaomi remote charging technology is capable of 5-watt remote charging for a single device within a radius of several meters. Apart from that, multiple devices can also be charged at the same time (each device supports 5 watts), and even physical obstacles do not reduce the charging efficiency. Future living Rooms will be Fully Wireless In the near future, Xiaomi’s self-developed space isolation charging technology will also be able to work with smartwatches, bracelets and other wearable devices. Soon our living room devices, including speakers, desk lamps and other small smart home products, will all be built upon a wireless power supply design, completely free of wires, making our living rooms truly wireless. This is a revolutionary innovation of wireless charging. This is also a bold attempt to turn the whole house wireless. It’s not science fiction, it’s technology. This is Xiaomi’s self-developed remote charging technology.

  21. Xiaomi has just revealed that it has just developed an 80W wireless fast charger that can fill in a battery in 19 minutes. It can charge a 4000mAh battery to 100% full charge in just 19 minutes. Just last year, the company introduced Mi Charge Turbo 30W wireless fast charging technology that can charge the phone’s 4,000mAh battery up to 100% in 69 minutes, later in August that year it introduced 50W wireless fast charging in Mi 10 Ultra that can charge the phone’s 4500mAh from 0 to 100% in just 40 minutes. But the newly introduced 80W wireless fast charger twice as fast as the next in line (which is the 40W Huawei SuperCharge Wireless Stand). And the charger looks a lot like the current one. The phone in the video looks like the Mi 10 Ultra with its curved edges of the screen and the single punch hole in the upper left corner. Xiaomi said that its wireless charging technology will continue to iterate, bringing the era of wireless charging replacing wired charging soon. Source | Via

  24. Something similar to this was reported a few weeks ago, using the YouPhone app to control your Samsung phone from Microsoft windows 10. However, Xiaomi is currently working on the device control app spotted on Mi 10 Ultra running the latest MIUI 12 beta. The Xiaomi Device Control app lets you essentially control your phone from a compatible PC. More specifically, the app’s ‘Screen Combo’ feature lets you broadcast your smartphone screen on your PC via Wi-Fi, while also letting you transfer files in this manner using drag-and-drop actions. According to XDA developers, you can broadcast the screen contents from your smartphone to your PC through Wi-Fi, and control it from the PC and transfer files. This feature is expected to be called Screen Combo, according to the screenshots, though the name could change by the time the feature makes it to the stable releases. With this feature, you can transfer files with a simple drag-and-drop between your smartphone and PC. You can also open multiple windows of your phone and then use it to launch different apps simultaneously. And you can also edit items from your smartphone on your computer with a simple right-click. As at the time of writing, it appears that the feature is limited to the Mi 10 Ultra (smartphone) and Mi Notebook Pro 15 2020 (laptop), but we can expect wider support in the future. The app is expected to launch in September 2020.
