At three suspected gun smugglers have been arrested by Nigeria Immigration Service. They were aporehended at the Mfum Border Command, near Ikom in Cross River State. The Comptroller in charge of the command, Ndubuisi Eneregbu, who confirmed the arrest in a statement in Calabar, said the three suspects were two Nigerians while the third is a Cameroonian migrant. Two members of a local vigilante group have been killed by bandits and several residents kidnapped, including a newlywed couple in Shola Quarters, Katsina metropolis. It was reported that the metropolis was attacked by bandits around 1:25am on Sunday, August 7, and they operated for over an hour. The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has urged parents to join the federal government in begging ASUU to end its ongoing strike. He made the appeal while speaking at the 11th graduation ceremony of Glisten International Academy, in Abuja today August 6.
