The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up two places to 30th in the latest FIFA rankings despite failing to beat Ghana home and away They maintain their third position in Africa, with Senegal and Morocco still the top two ranked countries on the continent. The Super Eagles were ranked 32nd in the World on the last rankings in February 2022 and posted a deficit of -5.90 points for the month under review but still managed to climb the table. Austin Eguavoen has resigned as Super Eagles interim technical adviser. According to Blueprint, a source in the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) disclosed that he decided to step down following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. The FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar between Nov and Dec. 2022. Eguavoen has reportedly handed over his resignation letter to NFF.
